Rondel Steven Southard was born June 2, 1959, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Merle D. Southard and Ahnawake H. (Gandy) Southard. He attended Lawrence public schools. He furthered his education and received an associate degree in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked much of his career in the behavior health services industry, prior to retirement.

Along life's journey, he made many friends in the Lawrence and Tulsa area. He greatly enjoyed nature and hiking. He was an avid KU Jayhawk and Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed following basketball and football on the collegiate and professional levels. Most importantly, he loved the Lord.

Rondel left this life on September 8, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Edward Sangster.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beautiful daughters, Paige Ragsdale of Oklahoma City, OK, and Rhonisha Southard and Raven Southard, both of Broken Arrow, OK; a son, Payton (Ryan) Ragsdale of Coweta, OK; mother, Belinda Ragsdale; five grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Fred) Richardson of Washington DC, and Pam Johnson of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Donald Mark (Lisa) Southard of Lawrence, KS, and Marlon (LaNelle) Southard of Lee's Summit, MO; nephew-brother, Sekou (Tonya) Mitchell of Upper Marlboro, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

The Hour of Remembrance for Mr. Southard will commence on Friday, September 15, 2022 at the Eleventh Hour in The All Faith's Chapel of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.,-Tulsa.
