On September 18, 1950 a new life began for Ronell Darwin in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the eigth precious gift sent to Mr. & Mrs. Jhue & Charlesetta Darwin. Ronell received his education in Tulsa graduating from Booker T. Washington High School with the Class of 1968.
Ronell served in the United States Army, enlisting in the summer of 1968. He would later marry Loria Johnson. To this marriage, Ronell Darwin, Jr. was born. Upon completion of his term with the Army, the family moved to San Francisco, CA where he attended San Francisco State University focusing on Criminal Law. He also enjoyed working with the elderly, operating his own transportation company for the elderly and disabled. "Squirrel" was an adventurous man who also loved writing songs and poems.
Mr. Darwin was a member of the New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was active in his church life and met Jackie Penn where they embraced God together. He later united with Cassandra Dyer. No children were born to this union, but he was step-father to Andra, Erma, Miracle, and Rilychia.
Also remaining to cherish his precious memories: Wilburt (Janie) Darwin, Johnny Mae (Edward) Goodwin, Duchess Maud Jones, Charles Darwin, Alfred Darwin, Charles Marie Harding, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts, and his grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Services will be Friday June 5, 2009 at 10AM at the Seventh Day Adventist New Life Church located at 1437 S. 129th E. Ave. in Tulsa. Friends may visit Mr. Darwin, Sr. as he rests in peaceful repose in the All Faiths Chapel on Thursday from 12Noon to 7PM.
