Roosevelt Collins was born to Lee and Irene (Fisher) Collins in Muskogee County on January 17, 1936. There were thirteen children born to this union. He attended school in Muskogee County.
Roosevelt met and married Shirley (Coulter) to this union, two children were born, Janice and Roosevelt Jr. He later met and married Vester (Cowan) to this union, three children were born, Michelle, Wayne and Tony. He also help raised two other children Linda and Reginald.
He formerly worked at Crane Carrier for over 10 years; after that he was self-employed as a mechanic for the last 42 years. His passion for working on cars was more of a hobby than work. He was well known for his sense humor. His zest for life and his ability to put anyone he met at ease will truly be missed by all who knew him.
One child preceded him in death Wayne Collins, his parents and 12 siblings. To cherish his memory and to follow his footprints he leaves his wife Vester Collins of the home, three daughters: Janice Collins, Michelle (Tony) Duke and Linda (Clarence) Trent, three sons: Roosevelt (Cynthia) Collins, Jr. Tony (Wendy) Collins and Reginald West, one brother, Henry (Charlene) Collins of Wichita, Kansas, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
The Hour of Tribute will be on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the St. John Baptist Church. Reverend Rex Woodfork, Pastor, will Preside.
Burial will follow in the Green Acres Memory Gardens.
