Think on These Things
Love and hate are so far from each other around the wheel of emotion that they frequently stand back to back.
We often find it easier to hate rather than to love someone. Hate gives us something to pit ourselves against, to push around, so we can feel the strength it gives, but love is so melting.
If only we could stay angry and hate something long enough to change it - if we really want to change it. We rely too much on the intensity of the feeling hate inspires to hold us up. A sudden release might leave us aimless, like a dog off a leash. We would not know what to do without that emotion to direct us.
We seldom bother to hate people or things that mean nothin to us. Hate left alone does not grow, but gradually dissolves. When we keep it well-fed, it separates us from our better selves -- while love unites and heals our deepest wounds and worst fears.
A Memorial Ceremony will be held in her memory on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the All Faiths Chapel at the funeral home in Tulsa.
