Obituary

Ms. Rosetta Deckard, in her 75th year, fell asleep with Jesus on Monday morning, August 16, 2021 from her home in Okmulgee.


On Thursday, January 17, 1946, Preston Jr., and Cleo Lewis welcomed their first baby girl into the family and they named her Rosetta. "Rose" as she was affectionatlely referred to by family and friends, attended Okmulgee Public Schools and graduated from Historic Dunbar High School.


She grew up and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church-Central, where she was a faithful member. Rosetta me Franklin Deckard and after falling in love, they were married on November 30, 1965. She was a valuable employee of Kelco Company where she remained until her retirement.


Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Deckard; her father and Mother, Preston Jr., and Cleo Lewis; five brothers, Timothy David, Randy Jerome, Bill Elliot and charles Edward Lewis, and Rayford Powdrill; two sisters, Gwendolyn Love and Kathy Ann Ellis.


Those who wait upon the Lord; her baby, Raegan Johnson; three brothers, George Lewis, Tommy Love, both of Okmulgee and Danny Ellis, Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine sisters, Norma Drew [Dave], Joyce Wilson, Sandra Payne [Curtis], Loretta Patton [Bryant, Sr.], Glenda Wallace, Barbara Wilson, Charlotte Love-Stallings [Luther Jr.], Debbie Lewis, all of Okmulgee and Patricia Love, Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her final hour will be shared on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of the First Baptist Church-Central, 521 North Central Avenue in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Her Pastor, Dr. Preston W. Jackson, Sr., will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hoardsville Cemetery, Dewar, Oklahoma.

You may visit Rose, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. of Okmulgee on Sunday, August 22, 2021 between the hours of 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
