Obituary

A TimeTo Be Born
Rosia Lee Miller was born to John B. and Sue Emma Miller on July 31, 1925 in Cotton Plant, AR. She was the fifth of thirteen children. At an early age she professed her faith in Christ and united with Rock Chapel Methodist Church in Cotton Plant, AR.
A Time To Plant……. A Time To Love
Rosia Lee was a graduate of Cotton Plant Academy.
On November 14, 1943, she married Harold Ivey. Ten children were born to this union; they served as loving and devoted parents. Upon marrying Harold, Rosia Lee began attending and consistently attended Taylor Chapel Methodist Church until 1969. Upon moving to Tulsa, OK, in November of 1969, they joined Wesley United Methodist Church. Rosia Lee was a Communion Steward, sang in the church choir, visited the sick and shut-in, was a member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Women's Auxiliary, the sole member of Benevolence committee, and fixed breakfast for children before Sunday school. She was the chairperson and an ardent fundraiser for the annual Calendar Tea, the Salad Festival, and baby pageants.
She encouraged her children to actively serve in the community. Rosia Lee supported her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly in their personal, academic, and spiritual quest for success. She enjoyed opening her home for family and community dinners (and especially enjoyed preparing sweet potato pies, fried corn, and homemade ice cream), baking cookies for her grandchildren, sewing quilts, working in the garden, traveling (especially with her sisters and children), fashioning garments, and canning vegetables. She was an adventurous person who was open to new things and new people; she knew no strangers and made everyone feel welcome in her presence and in her home.

With her loving family by her side, Rosia Lee Ivey whispered farewell to this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
