IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roxene Marie
Roberts
June 6, 1946 – January 17, 2021
Roxene Marie Roberts was born on June 6, 1946, in Bakersfield, California, to Roy and Priscilla Hendrix. She was the oldest of four children. On January 17, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, Roxene went home to be with the Lord. In 1964, Roxene married James Roberts, and, from this union, five children were born. Their life together began in Bakersfield, California, but in 1996, they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, then later Okmulgee, OK.
Roxene was a mighty woman of God, a pure example of what it is to be a blessed woman of God. She touched many lives by sharing the word of God, whether it was her fantastic cooking skills or being a mother to so many children or sowing words of wisdom and her special quote "toughen up mighty soldier of God." Roxene always had an encouraging word for you, no matter how bad a day you were having. She will truly be missed by so many who knew her and loved her; heaven gained another angel.
Roxene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James L Roberts Sr.; five children, James L Roberts Jr., Felix Roberts, Darryl Roberts, Lisa Anderson (Ken), and Mario Roberts. She was the grandmother of fifteen grandchildren five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Roy "Dewey" Hendrix (Alexia) and two sisters, Rosenthell Fary (Hubert) and Chelaloquese "Renee" Chaney (Charles); and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Priscilla Hendrix, five siblings, Odessa and Odell, Helen and Ellen, and Tommy.
Her Sacred farewell will commence on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Okmulgee City Cemetery. ElderHubert Fary, Pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, will officiate.
