Roy Lee Johnson was born on February 21, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. Roy later moved to the Blackjack community of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Roy passed away at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma on April 17, 2019. He is preceded by his mothers Bertha Harrison Williams, Pauline Johnson Wilson, his fathers Isaac Clemons, Ray Johnson, son Michael Johnson and cousin Jannie Thomas.
Roy had a way with construction and demolition at an early age, which is how he adopted his nick name, Buster. Buster would break up all of his toys, he was a talented and crafty young man. He studied carpentry, which led him to a career in construction, where he built and helped create many sites locally and state wide. He was a kind and loving person who lived his life just as he wanted. Along his journey he encountered many people whom he helped and left wonderful memories with. Roy was a hard worker and a family man and through it all, he stuck to his beliefs.
Roy is survived by his wife, Brenda Fennell Johnson, son Daryl Johnson, sister Brenda Johnson Bradley and her husband Michael Bradley of Muskogee, OK, three granddaughters, Twla Shaw, Kenish Johnson, and Lady Johnson, his four aunts, Aunt Billie Ray Moses of Wichita, KS, Aunt Willie Jean Cullom of Muskogee, OK, Aunt Ester Faye Smith of Tulsa, OK, and Aunt Emma Lee Sanders of KS, many cousins, Brenda Joyce Nunley of Wichita, KS, Paul Cullom Jr. of Muskogee, OK, Mae Stevenson of Muskogee, OK, Juanelda Lee of Taft, OK, Lisa Swann of Tulsa, OK, Andrea Sanders, Crystal Sanders of KS, Rhenate Hodges, Mayaka Hodges, Phylicia Anderson(Fredonja Anderson) of KS, Erika Brantley, Michael Graham, Sharon Graham, Amariah Hodges, Elijah Marshall Jr, Micaiah Anderson, Moriah Anderson, Anaiah Anderson, Sariah Anderson and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Memorial Ceremony will be shared on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM in The People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee. Reverend Roscoe Beasley, Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, will officiate.
