Obituary

Rudolph Richard Jenkins, in his 86 season of life, transitioned to "Everlasting" on Thursday, December 20, 2018 with family and friends by his side.
Rudolph was born on September 27, 1932 in Foxtoria, Harris County, Texas to Rosie Lee Reese and Leroy Jenkins.  Better known as "Rudy", he graduated from Historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1950.  He attended Langston University and received a B.A. Degree in Sociology.  He continued his education at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, where he received a Masters of Social Work Degree.  Rudy obtained employment in Muskogee at the Bureau of Indian Affairs and remained a faithful employee and supervisor until his retirement in 1997.
Rudy also served his country honorably in the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Japan Jenkins ship.  He often spoke of his experiences on a ship with his name.
Rudolph was a dedicated member of Antioch Baptist Church and also a loyal brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  At Antioch, Brother Rudy, as the church members called him, was a faithful trustee and most loyal member.  He offered himself tirelessly to his church and was a confidant to Pastor Coleman.  He loved supporting the Antioch Youth Ministry.
His loved for Alpha was quite evident.  For more than twenty years, he worked tirelessly sponsoring the Santa Claus Breakfast for children and parents who received food and gifts from the fraternity, McDonalds and the Muskogee School System.  He was also responsible for the Annual Prayer Breakfast, where the fraternity awarded many young male scholars with scholarships for college.  He was a dedicated and devoted servant who encouraged the youth in Muskogee to reach for higher heights.  Rudolph was also a loyal and faithful supporter of Langston University, where his mother, Mrs. Wiggly worked until her retirement.
He leaves to lament his passing;  two siblings, Lana and Ruth Parham;  as well as his close friends, Clinton Eubanks, Scottie Eubanks, Glen Eubanks, Jewell Jackson, Dr. Herman Totton, Mary Wynn, Dr. Virginia Schoats and Tommie Twine.

The Hour of Remembrance for Brother Rudy will commence on Friday morning, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM in The Antioch Church, 500 West Broadway Avenue in Muskogee.  His Pastor, Dr. Marlon J. Coleman will Preside.  Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.

You may visit Brother Jenkins,  as he slumbers in peaceful repose at The Antioch Church on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will render the Fraternity's Omega Service Rites at 6:00 PM and the public is welcome to share in this ceremony.
