Obituary

Mr. Rudy Wilbur Boulware, in his 66th season, surrendered to the will of the Lord on Saturday morning, July 2, 2011 from his home in Muskogee.

Rudy W. Boulware was born April 10, 1945 from the union of Winthrop Boulware, Sr., and Delores [Card] Boulware. He attended Wheatley Elementary and West Jr. High School, where he excelled in wrestling and won the State Championship. He graduated from Historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1963, where he was a member of the band. He also attended Tuskegee University.


He was baptized at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member until his death. Rudy united in marriage to Ethyl in Kansas City, Missouri and a beautiful baby girl, Ruby, became a member of this family. This marriage later dissolved. Ruday moved back to Muskogee, where he was employed at General Tire as well as Southwestern Bell, from which he retired due to disability.


On March 11, 1972, he united in holy matrimony to Doris Owens, and this union was blessed with 3 sons, twin sons Rudy and Russell and Winthrop.


Mr. Boulware was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Verina Bell Boulware, a brother, Winthrop Boulware, his father and mother-in-law, Fernando and Anna Owens, and his devoted Aunts, Ruby Stanback, Christine Russell, Christabell Griffin, Theola Simmons and Alfretta Stevenson.


He leaves in God's care; his loving wife of 39 years, Doris; his mother, Delores Boulware; his daughter, Ruby Boulware, South Carolina; his sons, Rudy, Russell [Erica] and Winthrop [Phylicia] Boulware, all of Muskogee; his grandchildren, Kentierra and Kendrick, Copeland, Cameron, Alijah, Russell Jr., Kyren, Kyree, Aliah, Maria, Malyia and Makerna; his brothers, Reginald Boulware[Elzora], Kansas City, Missouri, Ricci Keith Boulware [Eva], San Jose, California, Renaldo Boulware [Barbara], Muskogee and his sister, LaVern Cole [Willie], Dallas, Texas; along with other relatives and friends.

The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Boulware will be on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Missionary Baptist Church, corner of 5th & Denison streets. The Pastor, Reverend Cleo Baccus, will officiate.

You may visit Mr. Boulware, as he slumbers in peaceful repose, at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 10 AM until 6 PM.
