As the sun rose on April 29, 1963, a baby boy was born to Lawrence "Kitty" and Wanda [McKittrick] Williams in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was named Russell Donnell Williams.
Russell grew up in Okmulgee, where he attended Okmulgee Public Schools, graduating with the Okmulgee High School Class of 1981. After graduation, Russell then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. While at NSU, he pledged and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
In 1986, Russell married his high school sweetheart, Donna Lorraine Walker and from their union, a son was born, Blake Edward Williams.
Russell was employed with Git-N-Go Company and began to climb the corporate ladder. When the company closed their operations in Oklahoma, he began employment with Blockbuster as a District Manager and later, joined Prime Time Nutrition as a District Manager.
Russell was a kind and compassionate person who never met a stranger. He was willing to help whomever when needed. He loved spending time with his grandson and when time was available, he loved to go fishing and golfing. His loving spirit and personality will be missed by all who knew and loved Russell.
In his 52nd year with us, Russell Donnell Williams finished his course on Earth. He was met at Heaven's gate by his father, Lawrence "Kitty" Williams, his grandparents, Chauncy and Grace Ealey, along with other family members gone on before him.
He leaves to cherish and perpetuate beautiful memories; his son, Blake E. Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughter, LaShandra K. Keel, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his mother, Wanda Williams, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; his grandson, Carter Williams; his sisters, Donna Willliams McRory [Bart], Anchorage, Alaska and Carol Williams Davis [Lonnie], Los Angeles, California; his nephew, Donald Barnett, Jr., Laverne California; his niece, Donnica Barnett, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; an Uncle, Clifford Brown, Jenks, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of other relatives and many friends.
