Mrs. C. Ruth Dorman, after 88 years, surrendered to the will of the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2007 from Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Dorman was born on July 3, 1919 in Weleetka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Emanuel and Effie [Moore] Hendricks.
She grew up in Okmulgee, where she attended school.
Mrs. Dorman was a caterer and loved to cook, enjoyed gardening and traveling.
She spent time most of her life in Kansas City, Missouri, over 19 years before returning to Oklahoma after her retirement in 1988.
Her family includes her son, Kenneth James [Judy], Sugarland, Texas, her daughters, Louvenia Dorman, Glenpool, Oklahoma and Juanetta Sample, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brothers, Alfred Hendricks, Chicago, Illinois and Edward Andrews, Kansas City, Missouri; her sister, Esther Funderburk, Spring, Texas; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The Service for Mrs. Dorman will be on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee. Rev. Leman Lewis will officiate. You may visit Mrs. Dorman on Friday morning from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 AM and the casket will not be opened at the cemetery.
