Obituary

On September 8, 1919, a beautiful baby girl was born from the union of Willie and Lula Ervin in Woodville, Oklahoma in Marshall County. They named her Ruth.

She attended school in various counties throughout Oklahoma.

On May 10, 1943, she married Augustus Lee Jackson in Ardmore, Oklahoma. From this union, three children were born; Shirley R. Jackson, Gerald Lee Jackson and Vernita K. Jackson.

She was baptized into Christ on August of 1975 at the North Peoria Church of Christ. Later, in 1998, she placed her membership with the Tenth and Rockford Church of Christ.

She retired from Fourth National Bank of Tulsa in 1979, where she worked in their lunch areas, referred to as the Moroccan Room. Not much of a "retiring" type of person, she continued to be active in serving others, being a part of volunteer organizations.

Before health concerns surfaced, she had many talents. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, gardening and drawing.

She closed her eyes on Earth for the last time on Sunday, March 29, 2009. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald, a sister, Robbie and two brothers, Jesse and Frankie.

Remaining to lament her passing and remember her beautiful smile; two daughters, Shirley and Vernita, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruby Harris, Seattle, Washington, and Verona Kelly, Pamona, California; a brother, Warren G. Ervin, California; eight grandchildren, Danny, Sharri, Devin, Tanitra, Jared, Kamina, Brondhi, and Jermond; six great-grandchildren, Ravyn, Laquante', Tyanna, Anissa, Bianca, Khnari; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Tribute will be on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10 AM at the 10th & Rockford Church of Christ.
