"Her-Story"
A precious gift from God arrived on September 10, 1920 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma from the loving union of Rev. D.C. and Carrie Lee Smith. They named their bundle of joy Ruth. Ruth received her education at Sharps School and accepted Christ at a very early age. She met and married Willie McPherson in 1937 and was blessed to have shared 73 years of Holy Matrimony. Mrs. Ruth L. McPherson after 90 seasons, dozed from Earth to Everlasting on Monday November 9, 2010 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and four sisters.
Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her loving and devoted husband of the home, Willie McPherson, 1 sister, Eva Marie Williams (Quendell), Grand Rapids, Michigan, her care taker, Barbara Phillips, along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Services will be Saturday November 13, 2010 at 11AM at Greater Jones AME Chapel in Okmulgee. Friends may visit her as she peacefully rests in Okmulgee on Friday from 12Noon to 6PM.
