It all began in Altheimer, Arkansas, when a precious, baby girl was born on May 13, 1960 to Lillie Mae Anderson. She was named Rutha Mae.
She moved to Oklahoma with her family and dedicated her life to Christ at the tender age of 14, under the Pastoral leadership of A. C. and Sennie Mae McKinney. Rutha Mae met a gentleman, Eugene Timmons and fell in love. This love blossomed into Holy Matrimony on January 8, 1979 and their loving union was blessed with 13 children. They remained married for 40 years and were an example of true love.
Mother Timmons loved to share her testimonies of what God had done for her over the years. She was a wise woman and built her house with great love. A devoted wife and mother, she loved and honored her husband. Her love for her children can't even be put into words. Although she had many children, each one of them received the love and attention that only she could give. Before departing his earth, she left each of her children love, wisdom, encouragement and instructions.
Mrs. Timmons was a woman of great strength and faith. She helped her husband provide for her family through her employment at New Beginnings Child Care Center for 11 years and supported young girls as Assistant Troop Leader of Girl Scout Troop 2369. She showed a passion for leading youth and didn't mind sharing her wisdom with the young people. Mother Timmons loved her grandchildren and had both a serious and a comical side to her personality. She loved to laugh and have fun. She held on to God's unchanging hands until the very end. She never stopped trusting and believing in him. Mother Timmons always spoke her mind and acted as if she was everybody's mother or grandmother. "Older women teach the younger women" was how she saw it.
One of Mrs. Timmons most proud moments was when she earned her high school GED certificate in 2008 and also when she earned her Certificate of Mastery in Child Development.
In the morning hours of Saturday, February 3, 2018, Mrs. Rutha Mae Timmons, in her 57th year, "took flight with Angels, to thine place of rest" from the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her fathers, Clarence Boykin, Albert Jenkins, Sr., and Andrew Williams; her God-mother, Sennie Mae McKinney, her daughters, Carla and Elizabeth Timmons, her sisters, Florine Jenkins-Harris and her grandson, Joshua Ross.
