Ruthie Mae Bagby was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on December 22, 1937, the daughter of Willie and Addie [Davis] Gibson. Ruthie was the third of nine children in the family.

She grew up in Bristow, where she attended school.

Later in life, Ruthie met Roy C. Bagby, and after falling in love, they were married. Their union was blessed with three children; Roy Jr., Derwin and Felisha. They remained married for 54 years before his passing on January 1, 2011.

Mrs. Bagby was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Preston, Oklahoma, where she served the Lord and piano player for over 20 years.
In her 83rd year, Ruthie Mae Bagby "closed her eyes on earth, but woke up in Glory" on Saturday morning, January 16, 2021 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

She leaves in God's care: her three children, Roy Jr., Derwin and Felisha; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Cordia Williams, Compton, California; a brother, Nathaniel Burden, Haskell, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her sacred farewell will commence on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.  Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Mounds, Oklahoma.

You may visit Ms. Bagby, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Friday, from 12 Noon until 6:00 PM.

Masks are mandatory at the funeral home at all times and also during any ceremony, including the gravesite.  Social Distancing is required as well.
