Obituary

This is my story…" Samuel Lovett III 62, surrendered his soul peacefully on Tuesday July 8, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Sammy aka "Space Mountain" was born June 25, 1963, to the late Freddie Lovett and Joyce Marie Lovett in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Sammy grew up in Okmulgee, where he attended Okmulgee Public School graduating with the Okmulgee High School Class of 1981. After graduation, Sammy enlisted in the United States Army and after serving his country he returned home to attend Oklahoma State University Technical Branch, Okmulgee where he received his associate in applied science.

His career started in restaurant management for several years, then he transferred over to a new career field at Paccar Winch in Okmulgee Oklahoma serving over two decades as a loyal employee. To fulfill his childhood dream he went and obtained his CDL license and became an over the road trucker driver finishing out his working career.

On July 4th, 2009 Sammy married the love of his life, Angela Taylor. Their love was a source of joy and strength. Angie was by Sammy's side until his final breath with the same unwavering love she had shown every day of their life together.

Sammy will be remembered for his love of P-Funk "The Mothership" and his famous barbecue ribs, chicken and Modio burgers. He was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, a proud grandfather and a loyal brother.

He is preceded in death by his father Freddie Lovett, his mother Joyce Marie Lovett and his nephew Kent Rice Sr.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Angela (Angie) Lovett; his children Shawnta Lovett-Gray (Oklahoma City, OK) and Samuel Lovett IIII (Okmulgee, OK); his grandchildren Taylor Cooper, Aiyana Venson, Asa Venson and London Gray; four brothers Freddie Jr Lovett wife Sandra (Okmulgee), Ray Charles Lovett (Tulsa), Larry Lovett wife Patsy (Tulsa), Leroy Lovett wife Linda (Sapulpa); two sisters Irene Vielma husband Marcos (San Jose CA) and Serena Rice husband Pastor McKinley Rice (Okmulgee); one brother-in-law in Marvin Taylor wife Belinda (Muskogee OK); a host of relatives and best friend Vincent James who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Mr. Lovett will be cremated and the family is planning a private Memorial Ceremony.  Please keep the Lovett family lifted in prayer during this perod of adjustment.
