Her grandmother Joella Turner Bolden then took over the responsibilities of rasing the little bundle of joy.  She attended Charles S. Johnson Elementary, Carver Junior High School, & Booker T. Washington High School but graduated from Central High School in 1964.
After graduating high school Sandra attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1968 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism. Through 1969-1970 she was a product publicist for Clairol Products. She started the "Nice & Easy" Product Line. From 1970-1972 she added to her achievements serving as public relations consultant for the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Years 1972-1974 she served as staff assistant for the Chicago Board of Education Sandra had several outstanding skills, she started The Galloway Inc, in Chicago, Illinois and it was in operation from 1974-1977.
Sandra served her country in the Armed Forces from 1977-1983 where she served as Army Correspondent working in Washington, D.C. While in the Army she had the pleasure of traveling to Berlin, Germany and after her years of service she was discharged Honorably.
Sandra lived and worked in Tamarac, Florida for several years before returning to Tulsa.  She rejoined First Baptist Church and sang in the choir.
Sandra had a good and fulfilling life. She traveled extensively and met many important people in her lifetime, finally making her forever home back in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a proud republican and had a very big heart.  She came into our lives in the Crestview Duplexes Community and worked hard giving her all. She was a voracious reader, had a keen inquisitive mind. Sandra enjoyed playing cards, games, and organized activities for the Crestview residents, with Blues Night being one of her proudest achievements.

She leaves those to treasure her memory; her cousins Karen Owens Henry, Terri & T. Keith Owens, Roderick & Reggie Mayes, and Melonie Mayes Tyler.  Also left to cherish her beautiful memory, her Longtime Friend Gerry "Juggy" Alexander, extended family Delois Harris, Sharon Bryant Williams and many new friends and acquaintances we all take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones who have gone before.
"You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.  YOu can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: Smile, Open your Eyes, Love and Go On! ~ David Harkins
