Scharlotta Fields McKinney was born December 5, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the 3rd eldest of 10 children born to the Rosa Lee Vann and Stinsen Fields. Sharlotta graduated from Booker T. Washington High School with the class of 1972. Upon graduation, she attended Nursing School where she became a Medical Assistant. Scharlotta worked in the nursing field, and had a special way with the patients that impacted their lives with hope and love. She became an Eastern Star and was active with their duties, serving as president for 2 years. Scharlotta returned to her home church, Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, helping her to feel closer to her mother.
Her son, Sammy Fields, mother Rosa Lee Fields, father Stinson Fields, brothers Franklin R. Crawford, James Crawford, David Fields, and Spencer Hayden all preceded her in death.
Leaving to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Talona Lewis (Yarcus), Dallas, TX., son, Omar Sterling Fields, brothers: Minister Jeremiah Fields (Tangerene), Gay Hayden (Talitha), Oklahoma City, OK., Sterling Hayden (Geneva), sisters: Izetta Corbbrey, Tina Hayden, Uncle Alfred Robinson, sister in-law, Doris Crawford, daughter in-law, Sheri Fields, grandsons: Sam Fields, Simone Fields (Jessica), great-granddaughter Xoe Fields, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services for Ms. McKinney will be on Saturday November 3, 2012 at 2PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Friends may gather at the funeral home from 12PM until 5PM, and again from 6PM until 8PM to visit her.
Her Eastern Star Sisterhood will gather in her remembrance from 5PM until 6PM. Their service is open to the public.
