IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon
Carter
September 21, 1975 – February 6, 2018
Sharon L. Carter
.......I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.........
On September 21, 1975 a beautiful baby girl was born to Vernetta Carter and Roy Townsell, Sr.
She was given the name Sharon LaNell. Sharon was baptized at an early age and readily grew to become a loving and caring person. She believed in giving everyone a second chance. Sharon suffered many adversities in her life but she stayed strong and never gave up, she kept moving forward. As a child Sharon was in the children's choir at Wesley United Methodist Church, Apache Manor Drill Team, and was a member of the "Dance Ensemble" while attending Robert S. McClain High School. Even though she became a mother at a very young age, she worked hard to give her children the best life she could, and tried everything to show love, strength and understanding to each and every one of them and even harder for her grandchildren.
Sharon's way of showing love was to cook her famous fried chicken, smothered potatoes, mac and cheese, and potato salad, as only she could. She had a knack for remembering her nieces and nephews birthdays, always trying to be the first one who says, "Happy Birthday!" earning her rightful title of "Favorite Auntie."
On Tuesday, February, 6, 2018, Sharon received her final calling, when she was called home. She was preceded in death by her brother Jackie. She leaves to cherish her memory; her mother Vernetta B. Colbert of Tulsa, Ok, her father Roy D, Townsell Sr. (Wilma) of Beggs, OK, Her children Marquise Carter, Kisjuana (Quinn) Kelley, Markysha (Johnny) Martin, Shameeka Carter, Marcus Gaffney Jr. , her Grandchildren Ka'brynn, Kae'dynn, Demrie, Chas, Jhaida, Chandler, Denym, Chari, and Qash'lyn. Also, left to cherish her memories are her many sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
Although we will miss Sharon's precious smile, laughter, and joy that she brought to our lives, we will continue to hold on to Gods promise. The bible clearly states: To be absent from the body is to be present in the lord.
