On October 17, 1950, a beautiful baby girl was born to John and Alice Dixon in Kansas City, Kansas. They named her Sharon Elaine. Sharon later attended schools in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. After moving to Tulsa, she attended high school at the old Central High School in "downtown" Tulsa.
Sharon grew up in church and learned that God had to be the center of her life. As a young woman, she attended Revival Center House of Prayer, under the leadership of Mother Grace Tucker. Later, she united with Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Harold W. Jones, where her membership has remained. Though she was stricken with a debilitating illness at an early age, she could often be heard quoting scriptures, singing and praising God. She was married to James Eddie Smith. This union produced two children: Colette and James, Jr. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. A constant source of strength was her mother, Alice Colbert, who remained by her side until God called her home in 2005. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Pamela Marshall.
Remaining to cherish her memory, her children: Colette Smith, Tulsa, OK., James Smith, Jr. (Gina) Riverside, CA., grandchildren: Cameron, Tyron, Jeremiah, James III, Jaylen, Juanya, James IV, Jainna, and Shayla, five sisters: Johnetta Omorgee, Houston, TX., Diane Gailbreath, Kansas City, MO., Carolyn Foster (Willie), Coweta, OK., Evelyn Tunley (Cortez), Tulsa, OK., and Karen Graham (Douglas) Tulsa OK., one brother, Johnny Ray Love, Tucsan, AZ., along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Services for Sharon Dixon-Smith will be on Friday August 13, 2010 at 11AM at Full Gospel Outreach Ministries.
