Mr. Sidney Leon Ray, in his 54th year, surrendered his soul on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sidney Leon Ray, a healthy, bouncing, baby boy, was born to Clarice Logan on May 8, 1963 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Sidney attended school in Tulsa graduating from McClain High School the year of 1981. Sidney furthered his education, receiving his bachelor's degree in mass communication and a minor in physical education from East Central College, Ada, Oklahoma in 1986.
While in college he was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. After college Sidney served his country proudly in The United States Army. Sidney was always a caring person, if you needed a listening ear he was there to listen. His smile and humor would light up a room. He loved spending time with his children and family and was a huge fan of all sports.
Sidney is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother, Margaret Marie Richardson and Paternal Grandfather, Austin Ray.
Sidney leaves behind to cherish his memory; his loving mother, Clarice Logan and her husband Ted Logan, Oktaha, Oklahoma; his children: Daughters, Evronia Ray of Oklahoma City, and Cidnee Ray of Longmont, Colorado, one son, Mathew Harding; and one granddaughter Bayah Harding both of Mustang, Oklahoma; His siblings: Terrence and Alecia Cherry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Theodore and Rosa Logan Jr. of Oktaha, Oklahoma, and Shanita Curtis Porter of Grandview, Missouri. His Aunts and Uncles, Beatrice and James Wallace of Okmulgee, Carolyn Richardson of Tulsa, Johnny and Loletha Richardson of Sapulpa, Ollie Lawrence of Los Angeles, Sylvia Cherry of Tulsa, Linda Cherry of San Diego and Hellen Cherry of Tulsa. Also, a host of nephews, nieces and cousins along with friends and fraternity brothers. Special friend Evronia Harding (mother of his children) and Derrick Young.
The Hour of Remembrance for Mr. Ray will begin on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace in the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Okmulgee.
You may visit Mr. Ray, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home on Friday from 12 Noon until 6:00 PM.
