Steven Wayne McGlorie, "Stevie" was born on June 7, 1993 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Steve White and Carolyn McGlorie. Stevie accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Okmulgee Public Schools where he was a Senior member of the graduating class of 2013. He was affectionately known to his family as "Poppa" and known to classmates and friends as "Turk". Stevie loved sports and was a member of several Okmulgee Bulldog teams which include: Football, Wrestling, Power Lifting, Baseball, and Tennis. Stevie is preceded in death by his maternal grandparent Claude McGlorie; maternal great-grandparents Fred and Herlean Deckard and Uncle Robert Wayne Thomas.
Stevie demonstrated character, pride, discipline, and passion in the sports he played. Stevie was a dominant player on the football field and on the wrestling mat. He was a fullback that bulldozed and hammered his way into the end zone for touchdowns, game after game. During his senior season Stevie rushed 39 times for 332 yards and 5 touchdowns. His longest career touchdown was 75 yards during his senior season. Stevie continued to shine by becoming an Oklahoma State qualifier in Wrestling and Powerlifting during his Senior year. Stevie was preparing to sign his national letter-of-intent to Southeastern University in Durant, Ok to play football. If Stevie was not playing sports he enjoyed spending time at home with family and friends. He loved to laugh and tell joke, as well as, defend and protect his family. "Poppa" was a young man in the flesh, but an old wise man in spirit.
Stevie "Poppa" "Turk" was called home to be a part of God's almighty army on April 12, 2013 at the tender age of 19. Stevie leaves to cherish his memory, his parents: Carolyn McGlorie of the home, Steve White of Okmulgee, Ok;:two brothers Jamil McGlorie and twin brother Stefon McGlorie of Okmulgee Ok, maternal grandmother, Christine Thomas of Okmulgee, Ok; paternal grandparents: Shirley Tarkington and Hubert White of Okmulgee, Ok., four aunts: Sharon Jordan of Tulsa, Ok; Johnnie Mae Brown of Okmulgee, Ok., Tonya White of Oklahoma City, Ok., Donna Hemphill of High Point, NC., four uncles Hubert White Jr. of Okmulgee, Ok, Anthony White of Tulsa, Ok; Alsavon McGlorie of California, Claude McGlorie Jr. of California; favorite cousins, like a brother and sister, Cameron Johnson and Jennifer Hankins of Okmulgee, Ok., along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him.
Services for Mr. Steven McGlorie will be Saturday April 20, 2013 at 1:30PM at The Brock Gymnasium at Okmulgee High School. friends may visit Mr. McGlorie on Friday from 12PM until 6PM in Okmulgee.
