Ms. Sudie Owens, after 83 years, "was beckoned by the Master" on Friday evening, March 18, 2011 from Muskogee.
Her kind and loving gentleness will be missed by those who knew her.
She was born in Boynton, Oklahoma on October 23, 1927, the youngest of five children from the union of the late Reverend Clarence and Dorothy Pyburn.
She was raised in Muskogee and graduated from Historic Manual Training High School, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, ultimately returning to Muskogee later in life.
Her family who will cherish her memory; her youngest brother, Eural Pyburn; step-sons, Edward Gray and Jerry Gray; three nephews, Daryl Pyburn, Charles Terri and Eddie Rainer; a niece, Laswan Fisher; two-great-nieces, Chanel Pyburn and Tiasha Sharp.
The farewell to Ms. Owens will be on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. a graveside ceremony in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
Her Pastor, Dr. Marice Baccus, Senior Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
