Obituary

Sylvester L. and Imogene Hunter, Sr., celebrated the birth of their 2nd of 4 sons in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 22, 1963. He was named Sylvester Lawrence Hunter, Jr.

Sylvester attended Holy Family Catholic School, Carver Middle School and graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1981. After graduation, he began his career with Boeing Aircraft in September of 1981, where he was employed as an Aircraft Structure Mechanic for 25 years.

As a youth, He was active with Boy Scouts. Troop 41 is where he earned the prestigious honor award of Eagle Scout. He is the past grand knight for the knights of columbus, council #4519 and was also a member of the UAW local union 952 and served as Trustee.

On August 3, 1985, he married Sparkle Ann Parks. He helped rais 2 nephews, DeVante and Meleek.

Sylvester enjoyed music, sports, dominoes and fishing, but his greatest passion was helping and caring for others.

He closed his eyes for sweet, eternal rest on June 7, 2006 from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmound and Vernon Hunter, Eddie Lee Johnson, Sr., Nora Lee Johnson and an uncle, Charles Johnson, Sr.

He leaves behind; his father, Sylvester L. Hunter, Sr.; his mother, Imogene Hunter; his brothers, Wendell [Stella] Olden, PHillip L. Hunter, S.r, John E. Hunter and Timothy L. Hunter; his sisters, Felicia Minter and Patricia [Bert] Gann; along with other relatives and friends. Also loving memories, always to Sparkle A. Hunter and DeVante and Meleek.

The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Monica Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa. You may visit Sylvester, as he slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 7 PM. A Rosary will be celebrated on Tuesday beginning at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel.
