IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theodore R.
Jones
December 2, 1955 – June 25, 2022
Theodore Roosevelt Jones was born December 2, 1955 to John and Ruby Jones in Mounds, Oklahoma. He was one of eleven children.
Theodore lived in California for a while but returned to his home town of Beggs, to graduate from Beggs High School in 1976. He became an anchor to several of his siblings by taking them under his wing and caring for them.
On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Theodore said he was dancing with the angels and singing "He's an on time God". Before family member left his bedside, he prayed. On Saturday, June 25. 2022 at 11:30 am Theodore took flight with the Heavenly angels as he heard the Master call his name to come home.
Theodore's Christian journey touched many lives. At First Baptist Church-South, Beggs, Oklahoma, he wore many hats. He was a Deacon, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Choir member, church bus driver, church custodian and church parking attendant. He did all with a smile and would constantly remind others, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". He was transportation for many. He never met a stranger. If you passed through or stopped in Beggs, Oklahoma, you would probably run into Theodore.
He was an avid sports fan. His favorite Pro football team: Dallas Cowboys, College football team: OU Sooners. His home town team: Beggs Demons. They were always graced with his presence, rain or shine, hot or cold. He was the trainer for the 1975 Beggs State Football Champions under Coach Ray Jordan and the late Bill Wiley.
Other sports he loved were fishing and playing dominoes. A family member stated, "don't leave out eating, He loved to eat".
Theodore was preceded in death by both parents, sister Esther, brothers Prince, Duke, Authur and Herman. He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters Arbedella Jones, Inola Jones and Viola (Gary) Hil, all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. A brother Carl Jones of the home in Beggs.
