Mrs. Therasa Marie Herndon, after 62 years, surrendered her soul on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from Oklahoma City.

Better known as "Tracy" by family and friends, she was born in Okmulgee on November 1, 1948, the daughter of Louis Massey and Wessie Mae Whittaker.

She grew up in Okmulgee and attended Okmulgee public schools, graduating from Historic Dunbar High School with the Class of 1966.


Therasa was the manager of Ken's Pizza as well as Pizza Hut in Okmulgee. She later worked as an Environmental Specialist for Tulsa Public School District and then as a Home Health Specialist, where she enjoyed providing, caring and assisting many people.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and a step-mother, Frankie Massey. She leaves to lament her death; her children, Anthony [Quanton] Bird, Sr., Brian [Teresa] Wilson, Sr., all of Oklahoma City, OK and Monica Bird, Wichita, KS; 3 sisters, Cecile Strong, Wichita, KS, Myrna Massey, Oklahoma City, OK, and Deborah [Tony] Haynes, Decatur, GA; 2 brothers, Steve Littlejohn, Detroit, MI and Clyde [Vicky] Massey, Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Service of Remembrance for "Tracy" will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 P.M., graveside ceremony at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Reverend Melvin Rose, will officiate.

You may visit Therasa, as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 12 Noon to 6 PM and on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 10 AM until 12:30 PM,

The family will assemble at the funeral home on Wednesday for the final viewing and the funeral procession will leave at 12:30 PM.
