Obituary

A beautiful baby girl was born to Espanola and Manuel Alexander on May 27, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had a head full of hair and beautiful, green eyes and was named Theresa Marie.

Theresa attended Haskell Public Schools and graduated in May of 1977. She furthered her education at Bacone College, where she studied Nursing. While at Bacone, she was in their renowned "Queen's Court." She also attended Northeastern State University. She loved basketball and was quite popular on campus and in the community.

As a young adult, Theresa gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Fountain Baptist Church in Muskogee. She was a devoted Mother to her two daughters Tianika and Richelle, whom she loved dearly. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye. She loved spending time with them, recording movies, baking cookies and cakes, and spending plenty of time shopping for birthday and Christmas gifts.

Theresa was definitely a family girl, very close to all of her siblings and especially to her Mom, Espanola. There was plenty of shopping and going to weekend garage sales. She was the one who baked all of the fancy family birthday cakes.

Theresa was a hard worker up until her illness. She lived in Haskell with her mother, who took loving care of her until she moved to Arkansas. She resided in North Hills Life Care and Rehab facility in Fayetteville, where Richelle is a nurse and Tianika works at a local retirement facility, which with their combined experience played a vital impact on their Mom's care.

On Monday, October 20, 2014, Theresa Marie Alexander, in her 55th Season of Life, was called from "Labor to Refreshment!" She was met at Heaven's Gate by those who preceded her in glory, Her father, Manuel Alexander and two siblings, Lycleda and Manuel Allen.

She leaves in God's care to cherish her loving memory; her two daughters, Tianika and Richelle [Michael], all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her dear mother, Espanola Love, Haskell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Tyrus, Mariea, Takira and Camron, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; five siblings, Shirl, Eric [LaTonya], Stephanie, Hazel and Marsha Jackson, all of Haskell, Oklahoma; an Aunt, Tonya Kimble, Haskell, Oklahoma; three Uncles, Alvin Leo Grant, New York City, Bruce Raglin [Shirl], Tulsa, Oklahoma and Albert "Bonnie" Alexander, Haskell, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her favorite cousins, Andre Kimble, Haskell, Oklahoma and Danny [Evelyn] Byington, Taft, Oklahoma.

Her Life's Celebration will commence on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Haskell. Reverend Anthony Folks will Officiate. Burial will follow in the Haskell City Cemetery.

You may visit Theresa as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 12 Noon until 6:00 P.M.
