Mr. Thurmond Banks, left this life for a life eternal on Sunday morning, August 26, 2007 from St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Mr. Banks was born at Bald Hill, near Twin Hills, Oklahoma, the son of Troy and Essie Banks. He attended Okmulgee Public Schools and worked in the maintenance department for the City of Okmulgee. He attended Harris Chapel Baptist Church, and later in life, after his wife passed away, lived in Muskogee for a few years before moving to Wichita, Kansas.
He leaves to remember; his sons, Thurman Banks, Jr., Denison, TX, Darrell Banks, Wichita, KS and Calvin Banks, Wichita, KS; his daughters, Thelma Banks, Tulsa, OK, Cathy Watts and Carla Banks, both of Wichita, KS and Jackie Walker, Muskogee, OK; a brother, Troy Banks, Wichita, KS; a sister, Marcella Franklin, Wichita, KS; 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Bald Hill Cemetery. Rev. Greg Richardson, of Conversion Ministries, will officiate. You may visit Mr. Banks, as he slumbers at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM to 1:15 PM. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 Noon until the funeral cortege leaves at 1:30 PM.
