It all began in Okmulgee, Oklahoma when Timothy Owen Colston arrived on October 3, 1925 from the loving union of Devan and Alberta [Smith] Colston.
A lifelong resident of Okmulgee, Mr. Colston served his Country honorably in the United States Army during World War II after receiving his education.
Also referred to as "Tim," he was a Ally, Coach, Mentor, confidante, advocate, Doctor, Teacher and inspiring friend to those who knew him. Before his retirement, he spent some time as a Doorman working for local hotels.
In his 86th year, Timothy Owen Colston, "dozed on earth, but woke up in Glory" on Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 from his home in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He leaves to lament his death and cherish his memory; his six children, oldest daughter, Yvonne Lewis, of the home in Okmulgee, Owen Colston, Patrice Colston, Denise Jones, Annette Curry and Carol Colston and their loving mother, Mary Colston, all of the Kansas City area; a sister, Marjorie Bradley, Kansas City, Missouri; his Aunt, Eva Mae Williams, Detroit, Michigan; a lifelong friend, Robert "Bert" Manuel, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; and a caravan of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.
His cremains will be placed in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
