Tom Oliver Thomas
March 6, 1949 – January 21, 2016

Tom Oliver Thomas was born on March 6, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the seventh of eight children born to Mitchell and Ora Lee (Rogers) Thomas.

Tom attended Ralph J. Bunch Elementary, Carver Middle, and was a proud graduate of the Booker T. Washington Class of 1968. Tom was a faithful member of First Baptist Church North Tulsa.

Tom married the love of his life, Mary (Bertrand) Thomas in 1979. Together, they had two daughters, Tamala and Tristan. Tom also had three grandchildren whom he adored.

Tom was called for his flight to heaven suddenly, yet peacefully on January 21, 2016. His life was dedicated to his family, friends and Christ.

Both of his parents, and three siblings, Joe, Kermit and Mitchell Jr. have preceded him in death.

The loved ones Tom leaves to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 38 years, Mary, his daughters Tamala Merritt (John) of St. Louis, Missouri and Tristan Thomas, of Tulsa; his sisters, Patricia Smith and Annette Thompson (Marvin), his brothers John Thomas and Lucas Lee Thomas, his sisters-in-law Cecilia Thomas and Delores Thomas, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, John III (Tre), Caleb and Ella Merritt, of St. Louis, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services for Mr. Tom Oliver Thomas will be Monday January 25, 2016 at 11AM at First Baptist Church North Tulsa.

Friends may visit Mr. Thomas on Sunday from 2PM until 5PM in the Tulsa Chapel.
