Obituary

Ms. Tracy Fultz Townsend, age 31, and a resident of San Diego, California, formerly of Okmulgee, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in San Diego.

Tracie Michele Fultz was born on April 2, 1980 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Larry G. Fultz and Janet S. Madison. She was a vibrant person, full of life, witty and had a beautiful and infectious smile.

Tracie attended elementary school in Wichita, Kansas. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1986, where she attended Harding Middle School, Northeast High School and graduated from Emerson Alternative School.

Tracie accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church. After high school, Tracie attended Langston University, where she earned two degrees, one in Business Administration and also an Associates Degree in Computer Science.

Later in life, Tracie had a beautiful daughter, Ta'Jyaunna D. Carter. During her life's journey, Tracie met and fell in love with Jamale Townsend, who served in the United States Marine Corp. They were married in North Carolina on March 21, 2003. During her marriage to Gunery Sergeant Jamale Townsend, Tracie's life was full of adventure. She reminded us of a butterfly. You never knew where she was going to land. It might be Canada, Hawaii or Japan. She was also a good mother; she and her daughter had a special bond. Ta'Jyaunna excels in school and has a natural love for learning. Tracie taught her how to read at an early age. At one time, Tracie's goal was to attend law school to study and become a lawyer. Tracie enjoyed life. She vowed not to come out of the house unless everything was perfect from heat to toe. She shared a love of music, especially rap and hip-hop.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving husband, Jamale Townsend; her daughter, Ta'Jyaunna D. Carter; her parents, Larry G. Fultz, Joplin, Missouri and Janet S. Fultz, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her grandmother, Alma Fultz, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; her aunts and uncles and cousins, David Fultz, Ben and Rita Gissandaner and Beverly Griffin, Marva L. Madison, Michael R. Madison, Oklahoma City, Kenneth A. Madison, Pensacola, Florida; along with a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lamar G. Fultz, her grandparents, Melvin G. Fultz, Archie P. Madison and Evelyn L. Madison.

A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Peace at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.
