Reflection of Life

On January 3, 1974, a little bouncing baby boy, Travian Dolph Jefferson, entered this world. He conquered a very serious illness (spinal meningitis) at the age of one. His mother's pastor and wife became his babysitters so his mother could continue to work. Tray attended the prestigious
Ann Simpson Preparatory School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the first to attend out of two other cousins, from then he attended Faith Christian Academy. He excelled in reading the bible and memorizing bible scriptures and participated in the programs the school would have. He was a boy
scout and also played little league baseball for Roosevelt School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He convinced his cousin, Nathaniel Jr., to join him and Terrell, his brother, to play on his team.

Nathaniel described Tray as having the Heart of a Butterfly. He says Tray was always looking for somewhere to land. This explained his persona of not staying in one place for too long. He was always ready to flicker off to someplace else. His favorite places were Phoenix, Vegas, Oklahoma City, and "Cali," as he would say, not California. Everywhere he landed, Nate says you had to like him and accept him being around because of his kindhearted nature. Tray loved being a part of family wherever they were; he would always babysit his younger siblings. He never had any trouble making friends. He could always convince them that he had everything; he owned cars, food trucks, houses, restaurants, even though they belonged to other family members. He loved to work. He always held down a job until he was ready to move on. No matter where he was, he would always call and check on his family, mother, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He never missed a day. He wasn't into fancy phones; he still had a regular flip phone and remembered cell phone numbers. Tray wasn't a fancy dresser, but he was always dressed so neat and clean every time you would see him. Tray would always provide financial assistance to the mother and children that he spent time with. He had one daughter, Egypt, and her sister, Syriah, whom he accepted as his own.

His stepfather, Chester Author Jackson, Jr., whom he loved dearly, his grandfather, Isaiah Sr., and his grandmothers, Evelyn Jefferson and Arlene Scott preceded him in death.

Mr. Travian Dolph Jefferson, peacefully slipped into Life Everlasting on Sunday, March 6, 2022  in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Tray will be missed by his family and his coworkers, who thought the world of him. Every time you see a butterfly, perhaps it will remind you of Tray. It will land and playfully flutter around, but if you try to catch it to hold, it would hastily fly away looking for somewhere else to land.
Tray leaves behind his mother, Erma Jean; his father, Floyd Scott; his siblings, Katina (Christopher) Jones, Terrell Jackson, Justin Jackson (Christie), Jessica Jackson, LaKisha Scott, Ranisha Scott, Tammy Hawkins, Marcus Hawkin, Floyd A. Overstreet, Arlena Overstreet, Yolonda (Jim) Carpenter, and Crystal (Alamin) Karriem; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and many cousins.
