Obituary
On August 25, 2017, with his wife at his side, Ulysses Simpson Woodruff, Jr. met our Lord and Savior at the beautiful Gates of Heaven.
Ulysses life began on August 22, 1944 to Ulysses and Mae Ella Payne Woodruff in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. After graduating in Elk City, Oklahoma, he decided to attend Sara Junior College in Sara, Oklahoma. Later he joined the United States Army until he was discharged from the United States Army and joined the United States Air Force where he received an Honorable Discharge. He returned home to Oklahoma City, OK and began employment at Yellow Freight. Ulysses ultimately returned to Okmulgee where he met his wife Carol Sue Simon who stood by his side untiil the Lord took him home.
Ulysses was proceeded in death by his parents Ulysses and Mae Ella, brothers: Clifford (Buster) Spivey, W.C. Spivey, Charles Woodruff, John Woodruff, and Arnold Woodruff, sisters Lorene Ross and Lorena Keel.
He leaves to mourn his wife Carol Sue Woodruff, three sons: Tony Woodruff, Tyrone Woodruff, Tshaun (Mary) Woodruff, and their mother Lena Woodruff, all of Keller, TX, three step-sons: Cornelious (Cher) Simon, Moore, OK, Laron Simon, Okmulgee, OK, Brandon (Jennifer) Simon, Okmulgee, OK one brother Jerry Spivey, Houston, TX, five sisters: Geraldine Jackson, houston, TX, Sara Linscomb, Lamarque, TX, Darline Davis, Bridgeport, CT, Beatrice Smith, Tulsa, OK, Leola Wilts, Kansas City, MO, his mother in-law Cleo Simon, Okmulgee, OK, four special grandchildren, and seven special step-grandchildren, along with a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be Saturday September 2, 2017 at 1Pm at International Christian Ministries at 710 N. Hillman in Okmulgee.
Friends may visit Mr. Woodruff on Friday from 1PM until 6PM in Okmulgee.
