Obituary

On April 6, 1954, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma a beautiful baby girl was born to Lottit Pettit and A. C. Johnson. She was named after her grandmother (Pauline Pettit) Velma Pauline Pettit.

Her grandmother nicknamed her sweetie, sweetie was her first born granddaughter. Sweetie was a very quiet and humble person, who loved to read, watch sports and enjoy time with her family. She attended Dunbar Elementary and Sadler, Jr. High.

On January 2, 1969 she met Elisha Buddy Williams III the love of her life. They were married and she traveled with him to different states, he was in the United States Marine Corps. She furthered her education while he was stationed in San Diego, California. After returning back to Muskogee, she was employed at Western Hill Lodge for 20 years. They later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2008.

Her Parents, Lottie Pettit Martin and AC Johnson; brothers, John Cookie Pettit and Thomas Johnson; granddaughters, Janea Williams; grandparents, Elliot and Pauline Pettit; great grandmother, Lottie Pettit Vann; aunts, uncles, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory. Her husband of 53 years Elisha Buddy Williams III of the Home; daughter, Chelsey Brown Williams of the Home; six sons, Jerome Williams of Oklahoma City, Dwight Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Elisha Buddy Williams IV of Oklahoma City, Jermaine (Sherese) Williams of California, Adrian (Julia Ann) Williams of Pennsylvania, Tory (Joyce) Williams of Pennsylvania; 13 children, 11 great children, two half brothers, Michael Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, Henry Johnson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two half sisters, Debra Johnson and Karen Johnson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; uncle, Lewis Pettit of Muskogee, Oklahoma and a

Services for "Sweetie" will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Historic First Baptist Church - 205 Jackson St., Ft. Gibson, Ok, 74434. Burial will follow immediately after the service at the National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson.

You may visit her on Monday, November 7th, between the hours of 1:00PM to 5:00PM in the Peoples Chapels of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors - in Muskogee.
