Mrs. Venus Mae Rochelle was born to the union of Reverend William S. Davis and Maggie Mae Davis in Magnolia, Arkansas. Her early years were spent in the Columbia County area of southern Arkansas, while her adult life would take her to Muskogee, Oklahoma and then, eventually, to Los Angeles, California where she spent most of her adult life.

Venus attended public school in Magnolia, Arkansas. Later, she pursued further studies at Bacone College in Muskogee, and eventually, received certification from a technical institute in the Los Angeles county area. For almost 30 years, Venus worked for the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) as a part of its employee benefits staff.

Her husband, Jacque Rochelle, Sr. and her son, Jacque Rochelle, Jr., three siblings: Martha Watkins, Jeanette Davis, and James Davis, and her parents preceded her in death. Venus leaves to cherish her precious life; a sister: Carolyn Waugh (Tulsa), two brothers: John Davis (Tulsa) and Dr. Mark Davis (Dr. Evia Davis) St. Louis, MO. as well as a host of other relatives.

Venus' joys in life were many. However, most importantly, were her immediate family and enjoying the festive life of southern California. We thank God for the season He granted Venus to us. We celebrate her legacy!

Services will be Saturday September 20, 2008 at 10AM inside the All Faiths Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 12Noon to 7PM.
