Vernetta "Mama Sue" Ware

On June 17th, 1952, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Vernon Odell and Rose Lee Ware were blessed with their fifth child. A special, one of a kind daughter, that later in life would be one of many words and actions. They named her Vernetta Ware.

She professed her love for Christ at an early age, had a kind and gentle spirit. Vernetta better known as Mama Sue, never met a stranger. She was liked and loved by everyone she came in contact with. Mama Sue is a member of the Okmulgee High School graduating class of 1971. She went on to continue her education at Okmulgee Tech. She worked many years at Okmulgee Memorial  Hospital in the cafeteria. She also worked at Rebold Manor as a dietitian for many years. She loved to cook; Mama Sue would cook what seemed like enough for the entire neighborhood. She would buy gifts all year long for birthdays and Christmas for everyone, especially her nieces and nephews. She was always doing things for others. Even the days in the nursing home Sue could be found in other resident's rooms comforting them.

Proceeding her in death, her parents Vernon Odell and Rose Lee Ware, brother Curtis Ware, sisters Mary "Chubby" Williams and Arnette "Bonnie" Penn.

She leaves to cherish her memory, brothers Theodis (Wyntress) Ware, Eddie "Bill" (Linda) Ware, Vernon (Beth) Ware Jr., Charles (Deanne) Ware and Phillip (Janneth) Ware. Sisters Betty Barker and Carolyn Ware, Sister in Law Maryann Ware, Brother in Law James Williams along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that will truly miss her.

Services will be Saturday November 30, 2019 at 10AM at First Baptist Church Central in Okmulgee.

Friends may visit Ms. Ware on Friday from 2PM until 6PM in Okmulgee.
