Vester Cowan was born to Otha and Bessie (Barr) Cowan in Red Bird, Oklahoma on January 23, 1932. There were nine children born to this union.

Vester met and married Roosevelt Collins. Vester favorite sayings were "God is good all the time", "He is worthy to be praise", "I love my hot
summer days." She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Vester was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sharing her bounty from her garden with family and friends. She had a golden touch with children; she loved them so much and helped raise many of them. She loved taking pictures of family and friends especially if they weren't expecting it, but she didn't like her picture taken. She enjoyed dancing. Her passion for helping others and never meeting a stranger will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Vester had six brothers who preceded her in death: Rufus, Sinclair, Coy, Charthum, Lacy and Charles. She had two sisters who preceded her in death: Ruby Marshall and Odessa Gist.

She departed Life on July 20, 2021, and an angel was given her wings.

One child preceded her in death Wayne Collins, her parents, eight siblings and her husband.

To cherish her memory and to follow her footprints she leaves three daughters: Linda (Clarence) Trent, Michelle (Tony) Duke and Janice Collins, three sons: Reginald West, Tony (Wendy) Collins, and Roosevelt (Cynthia) Collins and one sister-in-law Charlene Collins of Wichita, Kansas, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Ceremony will be shared on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Skiatook, Oklahoma.

Burial will immediately follow the services at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
