IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Veyondtra Reynaldo
Williams
September 20, 1958 – February 4, 2023
Veyondtra Reynaldo Williams was born to the union of Dock Burnette and Olive Marie Williams September 20, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. He was the first of eight children.
Veyondtra began his education at Lincoln Elementary, in Los Angeles. During his middle school years at Maclay Jr. High, his siblings affectionately called him "brother genius" due to the fact that he was gifted and talented and received many awards. The "Professor" graduated from Granada Hills High in Granada Hills, California. After graduation, he attended Job Corp in Spokane, Washington to become a journeyman carpenter before the age of 21.
He used his perfected trade to repair and update his Aunt Bobby's assisted living facility, Salubrium. It was at Salubrium that Veyondtra met his previous wife, Elizabeth Lewis, and to this union, one son, Michael Ramses Lewis Williams, was born.
At an early age, Veyondtra accepted Christ as his personal savior at Christ Christian Home in Los Angeles, California under the leadership of Pastor Henry Charles Patterson. After moving to San Fernando Valley, he united with Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hillary T. Broadous.
In 2001, Veyondtra moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, became a member of First Baptist Church Beggs, under the leadership of his uncle, Maurice Williams. This is where he met his beautiful and devoted wife, Felecia Cole Williams, with this union came two bonus daughters, Jessica and LaCressa.
Veyondtra was a voracious reader with a keen understanding of literature, mathematics, science, and history, and served as a Lead Pastor for Victory Outreach. He was curious and highly intelligent with a need for a Socratic discussion. Some of his favorite activities were to be a grandpa to his treasured grandson, Kayden, and to sit at the feet of the honorable James and Helen Dennis and glean from their wisdom. He was a minister, teacher, and preacher with the ability to listen and break down complex concepts so simplistically that even a child could understand. One of his greatest attributes was his care and compassion for others.
Preceding him in death is his mother and a brother, Benjamin (Benji) Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, children Michael, Jessica and LaCressa; grandchildren, Kayden, JaMeria and James Jr.; father, Dock Sr. (Gloria) Williams; siblings Artraillia Williams, Dock Jr. (Nadlyn) Williams, Regina (Tom) Wallace, Phenetre Hardwick, Vincent (Heather) Williams, Daniel Williams, and Marcus Williams; a host of
nieces and nephews on which he doted, a multitude of cousins, and infinite friends.
Veyondtra departed this earthly life in his 64th year, on February 4, 2023. He was in the company of his loving wife and a host of heavenly angels.
