Ms. Virgie Lee Wilson, in her 85th year, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, May 30, 2019 from Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Virgie Lee Wilson was born in Athens, Louisiana in Claiborne Parish, the daughter of M. C. Cato and Cleo Patra Wilson. Affectionately referred to as "Coosie" by her family, she was a resident of Porter, Oklahoma, just south of Red Bird. Ms. Wilson was a homemaker, she loved her Channel 6 news and keeping her family informed. She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Red Bird and was a devoted family member and friend to all who knew her. Ms. Wilson was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Haskell, Oklahoma and enjoyed listening to the David Winn gospel hour every Sunday morning.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Littlejohn, her mother, Cleo Patra Littlejohn, nine aunts and four uncles.
Ms. Wilson leaves in God's care: five sisters, Olive Van Jones, Ada Bolden, Ella Brown, Lucille Jackson and Betty Renfro; a brother, Tommy Cato; a cousin who was like a brother to her, Willie D. Williams, Sr.; an Aunt, Beatrice Bell; special friends, Versie Durant, Nathella Dixon, Paula and Buddy Replogle and Dorethia and Walter Trimble; along with other relatives and friends.
The final hour with Ms. Wilson will be on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12 Noon in the Shiloh Baptist Church of Red Bird. The Pastor, Reverend Derrick Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
You may visit Sister Wilson, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 1 PM until 6 PM.
