Obituary
Mr. Walter Prim,age 68 and a resident of Oklahoma City, left Earth for Glory on Friday morning, May 30, 2008 from Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma.
Mr. Prim was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma on December 12, 1939, the son of Lisle and Kathryn [Scott] Prim. He attended Dunbar School in Hennessey and graduated from Lacy High School as Valedictorian with the Class of 1959.
He then attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mr. Prim also served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He met the love of his life while in Okmulgee, Hazel Wilson and they were married in 1965. Their love was blessed with three children.
Mr. Prim owned and operated Prim's Auto Paint & Body Shop in Oklahoma City for over 23 years. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, serving the Lord as a Deacon, Trustee, Church Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves in God's care; his devoted wife, Hazel, of the home in Oklahoma City; his sons, Walter E. Prim, Jr. & wife Christa, Seattle, Washington, and Matthew D. Prim, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughter, Yvette Prim-Wade & husband Emmit Jr., Oklahoma City; his brothers, Lisle Prim Jr., & wife Rhonda, Norma, Oklahoma, Ossie B. Prim & wife Joyce, Wichita, Kansas, Windell L. Prim & wife Gloria, Arcadia, Oklahoma and Paul Gregory Prim & wife Jackie, Arlington, Texas; 3 grandchildren; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Juanita Dixon, Martha Murry, both of Chicago, Illinois and Maxine Nash [Elroy] Country Club Hills, Illinois; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
The Tribute Celebrating his life will be on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. J. A. Reed, Jr., is the gracious host Pastor and Rev. Chester West, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church will officiate. The Christian Committal will follow in the Arlington Memory Gardens at Midwest City, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mr. Prim, as he slumbers at the McKay-Davis Mortuary, Inc., 1616 NE 36th Street in Oklahoma City on Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM. Flowers may be delivered to that location on Friday.
