On March 26, 1933 Wanda Lee Willis was born to the proud parents Oscar and Nellye Martin. She was born and raised in Vinita, Oklahoma, were she completed her education at Attucks High School. Wanda met and married Delmar Jones Willis Sr (DJ) in 1952. To this union five children were born. Mitz was a very loving and a kind person. If necessary she would give you the clothes off of her back. She was a caring and nurturing mother, and faithful wife. As a homemaker she was diligent in her work ethics and made certain that the needs of her family were met. She catered special parties for the social elite as well as family socials. On weekends she and her husband DJ would host "BIG" breakfast for family, friends, and neighbors.

Her kindness and generosity was stellar. Always a kind word, always making sure everyone's needs were met. Wanda was a faithful member of Greater Grace Temple under the leadership of Dr. Donald O'Neil Tyler. She always supported the church in its endeavors and attended faithfully until her illness.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memory a sister Wisteria King of Alahambra, CA one brother Calvin Fields Sr. of Tulsa, five children LaDonna Lester, Delmar Willis Jr., Teresea Johnson, Chandra Willis all of Tulsa, OK, Mark (Theresa) Willis of Ft. Worth, TX. Fifthteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Her parents, husband and two grandsons Leo Jr. and Ira Eugene all preceded her in death.

Funeral Services for Matriarch Wanda L. Willis will be held on July 22, 2016 at the Greater Grace Church at the eleventh hour. You may visit Mrs. Willis on Thursday, July 21, 2016 between the hours of 1pm and 7pm.
