Obituary

Wayne Edward Lawler, after 20 years with us on earth, surrendered his soul to Jesus on Monday, July 11, 2011 from Boynton, Oklahoma.

It all began in San Bernadino, California, when he was born the third of eight children to Irene Hill. He received his education from Boynton Public School, where he graduated as the Salutatorian of his Class. Affectionately known as "Weezy" by all who knew and loved him, Mr. Lawler loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his nieces and nephews. He particularly enjoyed playing basketball and being a handyman, such as taking things apart and putting them back together, as most engineers do.

Wayne had completed some college at Langston University and OSU Okmulgee, and his desire was to become a mechanic or to be a juvenile worker to help advocate other youth coming from similar backgrounds as he had experienced. His memory will be cherished and remembered by all who loved him.

He leaves in God's care; his parents, Robert and Doris Lang, Boynton, Oklahoma; his birth mother, Irene Hull, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandparents, Elsworth and Carrie Lewis, Grayson, Oklahoma, Lucille Lang, Boynton, Oklahoma and Carolyn Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; ten brothers, Antwone Williams, California, Robert Lang, Jr., Jeffrey Hull, Osorje A.J.Lang, Boynton, Oklahoma, Michael Lang, Ada, Oklahoma, Patrick Lang, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Tojmon Johnson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joshua Hull-Thompson, Beggs, Oklahoma, Jason and Justin Cooper, Glenpool, Oklahoma; five sisters, Shaleetha Williams, California, Shalonda Tiger [Floyd B.J.], Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Aisha Lang, Boynton, Oklahoma, Quinsetta Lang, Ada, Oklahoma, and Kila Hull, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; three nephews, L. J., Payton and Keaton; four nieces, Rakiya, Jayda, Trinity, and Aalaiya; special cousins, Christian Brown and Dewey Ogedengbe; along with a caravan of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and many friends.

The final hour with Wayne will be on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:30 PM in the Timothy Baptist Church. Pastor Kelly Payne is the gracious host Pastor, and Minister William Lang, Jr., will officiate.

You may visit Wayne, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 1 PM until 7 PM.
