IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Whitney Michel
Ude
October 26, 1985 – August 6, 2021
Whitney Michel ' (Jones) Ude was born on October 26, 1985, to Toni Rene' (Thomas) Jones and Earl Len Jones, Jr., in Rantoul, Illinois on Chanute Air Force Base, where her father was attached to the Navy PSD Office as a Disbursing Clerk. Whitney was the second of three children.
Whitney, as the daughter of a military man, traveled and lived in many states including Washington, Mississippi, California, Hawaii, and Oklahoma. She always loved the water and learned to swim, jet ski, boogie board, and even surf on the shores of Waikiki. Whitney spent her early years travelling as a Navy dependent and has always been a loving, kind, and generous person. She made friends easily wherever she lived. Whitney was generous and helpful to those she knew and strangers alike. Most would not know that she earned a blue belt in karate while living in Hawaii and was formidable with a bow. Whitney has always had many talents and there wasn't anything she wouldn't try.
In the fall of 1998, when her father was stationed on Tinker Air Force Base, Whitney and her family moved to Choctaw, Oklahoma. Whitney completed Junior High School and High School in Choctaw. Whitney ran track, played volleyball and basketball, and danced with the pom squad throughout her junior high and high school years. She graduated with honors in 2004 and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Whitney graduated with honors from the Price College of Business with a degree in Business Marketing.
The weekend after her college graduation, Whitney married the love of her life, Marcus Andrew Ude, on May 17, 2008. From their union, they had three beautiful children, Maleigha Rene' Rushell Ude, Mariah Noelle Karla Ude, and Malachi Jireh Micheal Len Ude. Whitney's love for her family and her love for the Lord were her two greatest strengths. Whitney was truly a special woman. She had a light that was pure and possessed true gifts from our Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived everyday of her life in service to the Lord by serving others. She was always there to lend a hand or help someone no matter their need.
