On a warm, sunny day in the year of our Lord, 1956, a feisty, bundle of joy, the last of five children and the only son was blessed to Wilson and Margurite [Harris] Edwards. This bundle of joy arrived on the 29th day of September and was named William Benjamin Edwards.


William was known by most as "Bubba", especially those who grew up with him in Muskogee. He graduated High School from Tullahassee and continued his education at Oklahoma State University Tech in Okmulgee, studying carpentry. He went on to be successful in management for Walmart for twenty years. In his later years, he was employed with TCIM until his death.


On the early morning of the 19th of May, William surrendered his soul to Jesus. He was greeted at Heaven's gate by his parents and other relatives that preceded him in death.


He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his daughter, Shakilah Edwards and husband, Terallys Chalmers, Lawrenceville, Georgia; his sons, Sharles and Erika Edwards, Denton, Texas and Ryan Edwards, Norman, Oklahoma; his siblings, Rosetta Hooks, Atlanta, Georgia, Virginia Terrell, Brenda Edwards, and Zella Bradley, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Sabian, Skyler and Isiah; his very special friends, Lynn, Bridgett and his ex-wife, Jocelyn Edwards; a special aunt, Virginia "Ruth" Hill and a special cousin, Robert Glenn Hill, both of Inglewood, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.


The farewell will be on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the All Faiths Chapel of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Tulsa.

Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
