Obituary

"With Reflections and Remembrance..."
William Terrell (Swee'Pea) Wilkerson, Jr.
William was born to the union of William T. Wilkerson, Sr. and Martha Delois Davis Wilkerson on January 3, 1967 in Muskogee, OK. Two years later, a brother, Marquis D. Wilkerson,I.(Las Vegas, NV) would join the family.  William ultimately became on of seven siblings. They are: LaTreva Wilkerson Etheridge (Elliott) Muskogee, OK, Novell Wilkerson (Tulsa, OK), Belva Wilkerson (Chicago, IL), Raquel Wilkerson and Nicole Wilkerson both of (Oklahoma City, OK.)
William's early childhood was spent in Muskogee, OK. He attended Muskogee Public Schools. William accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior at an early age. He received a strong religious and spiritual foundation from his mother, the youth director at Antioch Baptist Church. William actively participated in all youth activities at Antioch and later at Ward Chapel A.M.E Church. This early foundation in the church and belief in God continued to serve William throughout his life. In the late 70's William moved to Tulsa with his mother and brother, Marquis. They united with the Vernon A.M.E. Church. William continued to actively participate in church activities (Young People's Department and Children's Choir).
During William's Junior and High School years, he began to excel in sports especially football. He was a standout football player for Union High School (1982-1985). He graduated from Union High School in the Class of 1985 and received a scholarship to play football at Southwest Missouri State College. William left college during his Sophmore year to take care of his family.
William's professional career included several different paths. He eventually became self employed by establishing the "Blessed Hands" Carpentry and Yard Services business.
William married three times during his life and leaves to cherish his precious memory children from each union. In addition to his parents, one child Brittany Rene' Wilkerson, preceded him in death. His remaining children are twins, Whitney Danielle and Whitney Delois Wilkerson (Missouri), William T. Wilkerson, III (Tulsa, OK), Jeremiah Wilkerson and his mother Michelle Wilkerson (Tulsa, OK.)  Others cherishing memories of William are Trey's mother, Stephanie Bowie (Tulsa, OK) and a dear friend, Mary Hall (Tulsa, OK). William leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends who are celebrating his Home Going Celebration.
Jesus reminded us in John 14:2
of the wisdom of God concerning all of His Creations. "In my Father's house there are many mansions..." It's a reminder that all of us, as belivers, have our own special place/position in God's kingdom...creatively different, yet collectively a part of the whole. Surely, John enjoyed living his life in his own way, yet never out of the watchful eye of the one who created him. Therefore, today we won't say farewell to our loving brother, father, and friend, yet bye and bye, we'll see each other again!
God Bless each of you!
