Mr. Willie J. Anderson, better known as "Red" to his friends, transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

Willie was born on August 5, the second of five siblings, to Lela and James Anderson in Beggs, Oklahoma.  He attended Booker T. Washington High school where he played football and excelled as a baseball catcher. After graduating in 1962, he attended Langston University. Willie went on to serve his country as a soldier in the US Army.

Willie met and married April Yvonne Wiseman in 1968 and together they raised 3 children, Greg, Allyson, and Whitney.

Willie wore many occupational hats during his lifetime and embraced the challenge that each one had to offer. Early in his career, he was a deputy sheriff for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, he worked in a meat packing plant, he was an OTR truck driver, he was also a car salesman.

Willie loved his family and he was passionate about football and barbeque. (He could smoke a mean brisket!)

Willie battled with health issues over the years and now he is at PEACE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lela & James Anderson and his brother, Tommy Anderson.

He is survived by his children, Gregory Lee, Allyson Anderson, and Whitney Anderson; his granddaughters, Ameenah Anderson, Alexis Hooks, and Alyssa Anderson; his siblings,  James Anderson, Frank Anderson, Linda Theragood, and Andrew Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Willie will be truly missed!

Friends may visit Mr. Willie Joe Anderson on Wednesday January 13, 2021 from 1PM until 6PM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
