"This is my story.........this is my song"
I, Willie Belle Davis, was the first born daughter to Willie V. and Salina N. [Hammonds] Davis, arriving on December 28, 1926 in Boynton, Oklahoma.
I was followed in birth by my sisters, Berneice Irene Davis and June Ella [Davis] Cherry. We were raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma in a Christian home, attending and graduating from the Muskogee Public School System.
I subsequently moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in search of better opportunities, where I met my future husband, James G. "Bubba" Cravens. We lived as husband and wife for 52 years, before he preceded me in death in May of 2005. No children were born from our marriage.
I moved back to Muskogee, Oklahoma in November of 2005, after realizing that I could no longer co-exist without the assistance of family residing in the immediate area of Muskogee. My health eventually declined to where I prepared myself to meet my Heavenly Father. I transitioned from Earth to Glory as of February 7, 2008. It is well with my soul.
I leave in God's care; a cousin, Kenneth G. Mason; a nephew, Larry A. Garner and his wife, Tina; a nephew Robert A. Cherry and his wife, Naomi; a nephew, William Cherry; several great-nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
The final hour to be shared with me will be on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the Chapel of Remembrance at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee. Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., Pastor of Greater Rayfield Baptist Church will officiate.
Until "then", I will rest with the other members of my family in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
