Obituary

Mr. Willie Crutchfield, after 77 years, surrendered his soul on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from Muskogee.

On January 25, 1937, in Taft, Oklahoma, Willie Crutchfield was born. He was the second child of Onvella Lee and Veil Crutchfield. Later, Veil Crutchfield met and married Carsetta [Daniel] and together, they continued to raise him.

Willie attended Manual Training High School and later joined the United States Army Reserves and received an honorable discharge on January 31, 1963.

He worked for the City of Muskogee Sanitation department until his retirement on July 19, 1996. He was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for over 25 years, first under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. J. A. Reed, Sr., and then continued under the leadership of Reverend Gary Hall, Sr. Mr. Crutchfield served the Lord as a member of the Choir, Board of Trustees, Pastor's Staff, Bus Driver and Custodian. He also worked with the Kitchen Ministry until his health began to decline. You could always find him standing in front of the Church Marquee each Sunday morning greeting people as they came to Church. He knew no strangers.

Mr. Crutchfield was preceded in death by his parents, Veil and Carsetta Crutchfield, Onevella and Leroy Titsworth, Sr.; his sister, Helen Titsworth; a brother, Leroy Titsworth, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, William "Tremble" Allen and Chester Ragsdale; a grandson, Christopher Jaiden Crutchfield [CJ]; a niece, Trina Spencer; and three nephews, Solomon Wilson, Darrell Clayton and Robert Moore, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory; a loving wife, Doris, of the home in Muskogee; one set of twins, Ricky Crutchfield and Renetta Cherry, both of Muskogee, a daughter, Jessie LeAnn Sims, Stillwater, Oklahoma, a second set of twins, Kristen Crutchfield, Dallas, Texas and Christopher Crutchfield, Muskogee, the baby boy, Byron [Yulonda] Crutchfield, Seattle, Washington and Carmeshia [Kyrin] Odgen, Texarkana, Texas; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Alvin [Samantha] Brown, Taft, Oklahoma, Willie Ellis [Hester] Titsworth, Detroit, Michigan, Timothy [Lisa] Titsworth, Wagoner, Oklahoma and Stanley [Stakial] Titsworth, Taft, Oklahoma; five sisters, Geraldine Allen, Muskogee, Ruth [Robert] Moore, Detroit, Michigan, Wytoba [Darrell] Clayton, Oklahoma City, Gloria Jean [Frank} Thomas, Muskogee, and Shelia [Willie] Boykins, Muskogee; two sisters-in-laws, Betty McKneely, Los Angeles, California and Joyce Ragsdale, Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, other family, Church family and friends.

A Memorial Ceremony celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. His Pastor, Reverend Gary Hall, Sr., will officiate.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM to sign the memorial register.
