IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Lee
Jamerson, Jr.
November 30, 1954 – November 18, 2021
Mr. Willie Lee Jamerson, Jr., was born on November 30, 1954, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the son of Willie Lee Jamerson, Sr., and Almarie (Brown) Jamerson.
Willie attended Carter G. Woodson in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, graduating with the class of 1973.
In the year of 1997, Willie locked eyes with a beautiful lady, who became the love of his life, Lanise Jamerson. Together, they raised four children Olivia Jamerson, Alisha Jamerson, Tisa Cone, and Grant Cone.
Willie had several different endeavors throughout the workforce such as contract work, working with juveniles, and custodial work, eventually retiring from Muskogee Public Schools in 2016.
Willie was a genuine person who always had a smile wherever he went and who never met a stranger. He was featured in the Muskogee Phoenix for building a tree house for his twin daughters who were in his custody. Willie was known throughout the community for having two sets of twins. Both Willie and Lanise embraced a blended family, but soon realized that they were just one happy family.
Willie thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands building many things; he built his children a treehouse because he always desired to have one. Willie also kept busy by training dogs, which he loved dearly; his preference was black German Shepherds.
His love for music allowed him to partake in a church choir, where he played the bass guitar and drums. Willie encouraged and pushed his family to obtain an education and to see the fruits of their labor, as he believed in hard work. In his spare time he would watch comedy shows, listen to old school music, and watch boxing matches. Willie also enjoyed the holidays and dinners, as it was a time for family to unite and reminisce on their memories with one another.
Willie frequently used several sayings if you happened to be around him:
"One monkey don't stop a show."
"Only one person can t these pants, and it ain't you."
"What were you going to do if I wasn't here do that"
Willie had the utmost respect for his mother; she was a single parent, but she always made sure he and his siblings had what they needed.
On the morning of November 18, 2021, Mr. Willie Lee Jamerson, Jr., after 66 years with his family by his side, ended his earthly race and received his heavenly reward. Willie was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lanise Jamerson; mother, Almarie Jamerson; mother-in-law, Candice Milton; and his children, Willie (Monique) Lee Jamerson, Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tony (Tiegs) Jamerson of California, Tonya Jamerson of Georgia), Mon Van Hook of OKC, and Nikkole Jamerson of Bartlesville. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and a special bond with Justice Jami, Noelle Lanier, Kash Cone, and Ahmir Cone. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters, Lawrence Jamerson, Carolyn Carmicheal, Marjorie Deloney (Arlander) of OKC, Marvin Jamerson, Donna Anderson, and Ronnie Jamerson; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd (Sarah) Milton and Kenneth (Jennifer) Milton; and several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who loved and will always cherish all their loving memories of him.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will need rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
